Living and Learning: Craft Show Displays
Sharing my thoughts on what works, what doesn’t, and what I want to try for my craft show displays.

Craft Show Displays
I started selling at craft shows in 2023, and I’ve only sold at about ten so far. But every time, I learn so much more about how I want to display my products. It’s always interesting to see how other vendors have their setups, and also interesting to notice what is working and what isn’t at my own table. I’ll look at some of my past setups and cringe. Eventually, I’ll get it right.
First, I have to put this out there: A wagon, like the one I purchased from Amazon, is the ultimate MVP. The one I have is currently unavailable, but you get the point. Also, I purchased this during a Prime sale, so I suggest keeping your eyes open for a good deal! It makes everything so much easier.
Just recently, although I really love this layered earring holder and this folding earring display is an amazing way to transport earrings, I’ve come to the conclusion that they aren’t the best way to display earrings at a vendor show. Unfortunately, I think they’re too crowded and that individual pairs can kind of get lost in the mix. After my most recent craft show, I decided that I’m going to put all my earrings on cards.
(But with the layered earring holder, I have an idea to repurpose it that would still let me use it at shows.) You can remove the bars that hold the earrings. Fingers crossed! And the folding earring display is going to be holding extra inventory for a while)
This wood design rotating jewelry display tower has been a staple at my shows; I’ve used it to display earrings, keychains, and hair accessories. But I think in the future I’m going to use it for the cabochon-style earrings I had on the folding earring display because, since each hook holds multiples, I can put the same styles together while saving space. And space is a premium for vendor shows.

I Need Some Space
Because table space is such a premium, my goal is to add space right next to my tables. One way I plan to do this is by using a pegboard like this. I would use this mainly to display the majority of my earrings and some necklaces.
My beaded snowflakes are really popular during the holidays, but displaying them has always been a struggle. Normally, I use a two-tier rotating stand, but that gets crowded, especially since I have three different sizes.
The snowflakes. Yes, it’s a lot.
At my fire department’s craft show, my neighbor was using a four-foot Christmas treeto display ornaments, and I felt like a knucklehead. I had used a small, tabletop tree in the past, but its size really limited how many snowflakes I could put on the tree. And here, apparently, was Five Below with the four-foot solution that comes with a neat little bag for only $7. (Note: I noticed that they aren’t for sale currently. I’m going to go out on a whim and say that’s because it’s April.) I am super excited to use this for fall and winter shows!
Height Matters & Buying Yourself Flowers
Another thing I’ve learned, between attending shows and social media discourse, is not to underestimate the power of varying height when it comes to the setup, and it is something I’m still trying to work into my layout, like by adding a wooden crate (a popular choice at shows! They’re cheap, sturdy, and can be used for storage.) I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do with it, however.
This acrylic riser stand gives me some height and is a must-have for my shows. Currently, I use it to display some of my beaded flower products (pots, mini vases, and magnets), and next to it, I keep my case of single beaded flowers and keychains.
Some of my flower products.
My beaded flower items are a mix of build-your-own and already made, so I like to keep everything together. You can build your own keychain bouquet or mini vase. At my last show, I had several people interested in building their own magnet. I hadn’t offered that because I glue the flowers into the vase, but I think I’m going to have to start offering it. The real question is do I glue a magnet to a mini vase like I have been or do I buy them already made? (Considering I have like 40 magnets, I’ll be making them at least to start).
I also had several people comment how colorful and springy my table looked, and I’m 95% they were all talking about the flowers. Making these beaded flowers was an unexpected TikTok find, and I’m so glad I did.
The single flowers. I have the keychains altogether in one container, and you can also see a couple magnets and empty vases.
Note: I think I purchased the case with the single flowers at the Container Store, but I can’t find it on the website. The style is similar to their Stackers collection. I’m also pretty sure that I removed the dividers to just let all the flowers lay in the no problem. It’s driving me crazy that I can’t find it because I love it! I also think the case I use for my angel charms is also part of that collection.
Coming Together
I’d like to get a magnetic board to be part of my display. Currently, when I’m laying out the magnets, I have to do so in a way that they aren’t attracting to each other. This would totally eliminate that problem. If I’m focusing on the build-your-own theme (which I think is where I’m going), I could use the risers to display the single flowers in their own vases/cups/whatevers by color and style for a cleaner layout to see all the different options. And, again, that container could easily be used to display another product or used for flower storage.
There’s a couple items related to branding I’d like to get eventually. One is a banner with my logo in front of the table, like get a banner made. Another would be acrylic, laser-cut signage that I could have my QR codes for my payment options and socials.
Just like with actually making the jewelry, it can be frustrating trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t, especially when money is tight, and money is needed to try and figure these things out or practice (looking at you, bead thread). It can also be a creative exercise, both with tweaking displays and finding other uses for display items. But I am learning to trust the process and looking forward to seeing some of my ideas - both products and displays - come to life!
